Where it comes from
Pochampally, in the Bhoodan Pochampally region of Telangana, is one of India's most celebrated ikat weaving centres. The weave — called 'Pochampally Ikat' — was awarded a Geographical Indication (GI) tag and is recognised by UNESCO as part of the 'Iconic Saree Weaving Clusters of India'.
