Where it comes from
Kanchipuram is best known worldwide for its pure silk sarees, but the region also has a long tradition of weaving pure cotton sarees using the same contrast-border and temple-motif design language. These cottons share the visual vocabulary of the silks — korvai-style contrast borders, temple gopuram motifs and structured pallus — in a fabric suited to daily wear.

- Is Kanchipuram cotton the same as Kanchipuram silk?
- No. They share design language and are woven in the same region, but Kanchipuram cotton uses cotton yarn throughout, making it lighter, more affordable, and better suited to daily wear.
- Will the border loosen after wash?
- A well-woven korvai-style border will not loosen if the saree is washed gently and never wrung. Avoid twisting the border area when drying.
